Planetarium Excursion

Inside the Tropical Dome at the Botanic Gardens
Inside the Tropical Dome

On Wednesday 19th August, our Year One students visited the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.  They started the day walking through the beautiful Botanic Gardens which has more than 20,000 plants representing approximately 5000 species from around the world.  The children particularly loved walking through the wet Tropical Dome and seeing the wildlife down at the Lagoon and Bamboo Grove.  We had our lunch at the new picnic grounds and the children also had a chance to play on the fantastic new playground before heading off to learn all about the night sky in the spectacular Cosmic Skydome at the Planetarium.  The children enjoyed learning all about the stars, the phases of the moon and the planets in our solar system.
