Serviceton South State School has a beautiful new library built under the State Schools of Tomorrow Project. It houses collections of children’s literature, information books and teaching resources, and has a computer laboratory and a green room for film activities. An outdoor patio is also popular with students.

Every class in the school, including Prep, has a weekly library lesson . During these lessons they listen to children’s literature and develop library skills. Students in Prep are allowed to borrow one book for one week. Students in years 1 to 2 are allowed to borrow up to three books for one week, as long as they have a library bag. Students in years 3 to 6 are allowed to borrow up to four books for two weeks. If students lose or damage a book, they will be asked to pay $15 towards the purchase of a new book.

At lunch times students use the library for study and recreation.
